
Using Web Marketing
Web marketing may also be called online marketing, e-marketing or Internet Marketing. What ever you call web marketing it is a form of marketing used to sell products or services over the internet. Web marketing can garner instant responses because of the properties of the internet. Of course when you use web marketing you will not always get instant responses or instant buyers who are making purchases because not every one plans to purchase instantly so you can’t have this sort of expectation with web marketing.
The ideology behind web marketing is not a lot different from traditional cold calling or engaging in a traditional advertising campaign. You still need to advertise to let the customer know who you are, what you have for sale and how easy it is to purchase a product or service from you. The internet is a powerful advertising format that is visited by millions of people every day so you want to have some of these people come to your site and do some business there. In order to do this you have to get these customers to your website. This is where search engine optimization comes into play.
There are various ways to optimize searches such as repeated key word or title usage or placement. Using geo location software so the web search results come up with your business in the area where it is located. There is niche marketing which may be a smaller marketing area but it targets people who search specific product based searches. So a person looking for a pair of skis will have searches that relate specifically to skiing such as down jackets or ski gloves or ski boots.
However, no matter what kind of marketing techniques are used on your website you must make sure that the site is easy to navigate. If the website has lots of graphics then make sure those graphics don’t take your potential customer a long time to load. Use a software program that can compress any graphics files so the website remains easy to use.
Once the website is up and running and has been tested and appears to work well, you will have to get traffic to your website. There are many ways to do this such as links to other websites or banner ads but the best way is to build a good website. You need to provide visitors with good information, services or goods or products. It needs to be an interesting website with some actual information visitors to your website can print out and use. And more importantly it has to be kept current. If you keep it current you will in the long run have a viable website with lots of visitors.
One other area where you need to get it right is if your website is selling a product or products for you then that the web visitor must be able to get to your sales site fast. Simply put, long load times equals lost customers.
